This scribble has been posted on my website lizcleavesillustration.com and to my Facebook page, Liz Cleaves Illustration. It was made in the summer of 2012 and it has a back story that I would like
to share.
I was working at a local farm stand one midsummer's day when a woman came in. She was extremely pregnant, wearing this bright orange sun dress, gold bangles, bug eyed designer sunglasses and four inch wedges! Instantly she brought to mind the teachings of Art History, in particular "The Venus of Willendorf", a fertility goddess figurine made around 28,000 - 25,000 BCE.
This woman was a walking talking modern day fertility goddess, the manifestation of "Venus of Willendorf". She was so overwhelming in her virility that she had to be documented as a
divine sighting.
